Hello Mensans!
I am deeply honored to be elected president of such a gifted group of individuals. This is truly an exciting year ahead as I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in our future events and online. I will serve the Organization to the best of my ability to ensure that MENSA continues to grow way beyond my term.
Having said that, I am excited to help take MENSA to the next level and expand our organization from an EMERGING MENSA to a NATIONAL MENSA. To get there, we need to roll up our sleeves and work as a team to achieve this outcome.
Therefore, on behalf of the officers-elect, I want to now take this opportunity to share with you our vision and plans for MENSA Philippines.
1) Activities. One of our main priorities is to come up with better events this year. Aside from beefing up our Annual Gathering, we also plan to host at least one major Seminar presenting the country’s leaders and inspirational figures. Also expect to have other fun activities, such as joining TV Game Shows, BBQs, Mensa Trips, and Activities for Teens, etc. The Welcome Ceremony for our new members will be a special treat for new and old members alike.
2) Perks. As a paid up member, we plan to create tie-ups with establishments for membership discounts. We plan to offer discounts for bookstores, educational theme parks, museums, etc.
3) Support. Members can expect better membership support thru a more interactive website which allows members to check and update their membership status, renew their memberships conveniently on line, register for events, get the latest news and announcements, read and participate in lively discussion in the forums. This is also a good opportunity to interact with other members and get to know each other better. We will also continue to print our newsletter, MENSAHE, and also offer an online environmentally friendly alternative.
4) Merchandise. Upon induction into Mensa, New members will not only receive a membership card, but also our new Mensa Pin, and Mensa Member Certificate. On top of that, Members can also purchase Mensa Mugs, Trendy T-shirts, Body bags, etc.
5) Charity and Social Responsibility. We will also be hosting charity events and activities and we want as many Mensans to join this fun and enriching activity as we help improve the community that we live in.
6) Organizational Goals. We plan to increase membership numbers by improving public relations, increasing our public awareness, and conducting more mass testings.
Given all the plans that we have, I give you our commitment that we will work hard to achieve these goals, but for us to succeed and serve you better, there is one all-important ingredient that will determine the success of MENSA, and that is YOU, the MEMBERS. You are the determining factor of the success of Mensa Philippines as an organization.
I encourage and invite all of you, to participate in more activities, join more events, and be more involved. These are fun times ahead of us and I want everyone to be a part of this period of Mensa as we grow our organization to become a NATIONAL MENSA.
